These guys don't represent a church. They seem to be typical nutballs painted in religion.

Interesting article, Boom. I thought this line had an ominous undertone:

"Franklin Graham, the evangelist (and son of Billy Graham), boasted that the American invasion of Iraq opens up exciting new opportunities for missions to non-Christian Arabs."

When evangelical Christians start talking about warfare being used to open up new markets to Christianity, that's getting dangerously close to the mentality behind the crusades and other lamentable parts of history. Graham might wanna rethink that statement.

    Straight from Fenian's link:

Cmdr. Chris Havens, the Police Department spokesman, said the suspects boasted about belonging to a leaderless group of 10 or 15 who share a belief that society has become too focused on self-improvement and self-gratification and has lost focus on the glorification of God.

Yup, Fenian, they represent all Christians.

Thank you, Ace, for getting the point.

No one is saying these nutjobs "represent Christianity." In fact, they're saying the opposite.

Where, exactly, did Fenian say they do? Should he have not posted the link at all?

Exactly...unlike some people on here who insist that Muslim terrorists represent all of Islam.

So you don't think "religious" in his title was put there just to fill out the headline? Laughable.

If you don't know Fenian's one-trick pony games you obviously haven't been paying attention.

There is a little difference between "10 or 15" that every Christian religion would comdemn and millions of Muslims that don't condemn the terrorist acts perpetrated by folks in the name of Allah. I should think most could see the distinction.

Tony, don't confuse FenPhen with the facts. You might show him how far apart he is from his so-called religion (I say that about his own personal brand, not true Catholicism) and the Pope, who might use the word "repudiation" in reference to him.

"Excommunication" you say? You can't be excommunicated from something you never truly belonged to.

I like this quote the best.

"The suspects said the group has three levels of involvement: Bible study, consensual fighting and destructive acts. Because one of their beliefs is free thought, however, participation in all three levels is not mandatory, they told police."

Yes, but most are quick learners who can skip Bible study and go straight to destructive acts.
