He's already proven himself to me.
Saints are fortunate to have him. And to be more accurate, the whole Saints team will be out to prove something next year. I feel certain they will make waves in the League.

The Bush bandwagon was pretty full not long ago, and it likely held a few people here, too.

Bush has tons more potential to be a far better player than Meggett ever was. However, he will never, ever live up to the ridiculous hype that accompanied his entrance into the league. He's simply not durable enough to be an every-down back.

As for Hester, he was involved in the offense a little more than most people assume, but there wasn't anyone to get him the ball on a consistent basis. As someone mentioned earlier, he'll never be a full-time receiver, so, as a Bears fan, I'm perfectly happy with the team trying to get him 3-5 touches a game as a wide receiver or runner -- as long as he keeps returning 6-7 kicks a year.

People that disrespect him, or say he's not this or not that, I don't think they are watching the same person as I am.
It's remarkable what you hear from people.

I hear, from NFL people, he's a remarkable role player.
    A decoy of grand proportions.

What about this guy? He was deadly on the shovel pass. [IMG]

Good thing he didn't allegedly rape anyone wearing a Sam Mills jersey.

I never called Dave Meggett a Saint. Should I counter with a cheap shot about Cleveland sports?

I just kinda threw it out there, but then I checked their career stats. Didn't realize how similar they actually were.

    Meggett:
    398-1,684 rushing, 4.2 avg
    336-3,038 receiving, 9.0 avg
    349 punt returns, 10.6 avg, 7 TDs
    252 kickoff returns, 22.1 avg, 1 TD

    Metcalf:
    630-2,392 rushing, 3.8 avg
    541-5,572 receiving, 10.3 avg
    351 punt returns, 9.8 avg, 10 TDs
    280 kickoff returns, 20.8 avg, 2 TDs

C'mon, be original at least! My line was pretty good.

I would say Eric Metcalf was far superior to Meggett. But I'm not sure he was superior to his dad Terry, except Terry had a bad fumbling problem.
