    What about Kevin Faulk?
    Another very good role player.

Meggett was never the primary back in he Giants offense, he had Rodney Hampton, who had 5 consecutive seasons of 1000+ yards rushing. Meggett was an excellent 3rd down and receiving back.

Bush is a nice receiving back but a weak runner as evidenced by his 3.7 yard per carry average, which is far lower than Meggett's average per carry with the Giants.

Good call on Jones-Drew. Similar type of back who entered the season in a similar role -- 3rd-down back sharing some of the regular load at tailback with a more experienced back and returning kicks. Jones-Drew doesn't return punts like those guys, but so far he is a much better running back than Bush.

Oh, and Bush is $40 million richer than any of the aforementioned.

remember how they got him 100?

i'm guessing at the numbers, but he had like 91 going into the last game and they just kept dumping the ball off to him for 0 yards till he hit 100

was a farce of not quite strahanian proportions

James Brooks = Greatest third-down back ever (even though he was a starter much of his career)

Wow, I did not realize they did that. Pathetic.

    Just for comparison's sake:

    Bush:
    312 car., 1,146 yards, 10 TDs (3.7 avg)
    161 rec., 1,159 yards, 4 TDs (7.2 avg)
    31 PR, 228 yards, 1 TD (7.4 avg)

    Meggett:
    398-1,684 rushing, 4.2 avg
    336-3,038 receiving, 9.0 avg
    349 punt returns, 10.6 avg, 7 TDs
    252 kickoff returns, 22.1 avg, 1 TD

    Metcalf:
    630-2,392 rushing, 3.8 avg
    541-5,572 receiving, 10.3 avg
    351 punt returns, 9.8 avg, 10 TDs
    280 kickoff returns, 20.8 avg, 2 TDs

Problem is, Bush really isn't a return man, so it's hard to compare him to Meggett and Metcalf.

The type of player Bush is supposedly akin to is Brian Westbrook and Marshall Faulk.

Anyway you stack it up, it's hard to see him ever justifying a Top Five pick. But I think he'll eventually end up having more of an every-down impact than Meggett or Metcalf did.

Speaking of third-down back/return guys, anybody else remember Lionel "Little Train" James? He didn't last long, but he was pretty explosive for a couple of years.
