    It wouldn't save his ratings.

So, this is the Daily Mail citing the Daily Caller citing anonymous sources? Well, that certainly seems impeccable.

    Exactly.

  4. Put Strong Bad into the role and the ratings would be through the roof.

Why stop there and just put Mika in the chair?

I'm sure if Gregory were to go, the folks who started firedavidgregory.com while he was NBC's WH correspondent would be thrilled. On a subject related to the Sunday morning shows, our CBS affiliate in Peoria, IL only airs the first half of the newly-expanded "Face The Nation," in favor of -- big surprise -- infomercials (idiotic).

Can any of you tell me other places where your CBS station only airs the first half-hour of Face The Nation. Schieffer had a couple good interviews in recent weeks, but I only got to see half of them, obviously.

That's probably contract-driven. The station sold the time and the schedule changed, and they didn't want to lose the income.

Gregory lost all claim to a network spot after the infamous Karl Rove number.

Exactly. And the person who described him as shallow? Dead on, as well. Guy seems like the worst stereotype of a tv douche to me. Can't watch that show with him on it.

People are turning the Schieffer because he's been there forever. He has built-in institutional knowledge that comes through on the show.
You can't fake that or just assume it with the chair.
It's all about relationships. Good reporter? Fine. Good broadcaster? A plus. But if you can't get people on the show to admit something or say something they don't want to say, it really doesn't matter.
