A complete debacle. A tad surprising, but really not. They'll meet again in January.

There may not be a decision for the Niners and Harbaugh to make after this season. His head may explode from what's going on there.

Really unbelievable what that team was the last 2-3 years and what it is now ... both on and off the field.

Mile High, you can't spot either the Pats or Broncos a two touchdown lead. After Edelman's punt return, all Manning was doing was bailing the Titantic. I'll bet Denver has a new kicker by the AFC title game, whether they're in or not.

Don't disagree with any of that. But ... it's a game. On the road. Shit happens. On to Oakland.

So who's your top 5 as of now? I'll go ...

    1. Patriots
    2. Broncos
    3. Packers
    4. Ravens
    5. Cardinals

As an Arizona fan, I'm still not convinced they are 7-1 good. And I can't help but think how stupid-good they'd be with Dockett, Abraham and Daryl Washington.

I don't think the packers are the third best team. You have to be able to tackle a running back to be ranked that high.

Denver must, must, must do better on special teams than it has in the last two losses in which it surrendered 43 points, or poor Peyton will get blamed for another playoff loss.
As a I PS, I love watching Gronk play football, but I hate myself for doing it, because every play I think this will be his next serious injury. He's the Earl Campbell of the 21st century.
PPS: I don't believe in rating NFL teams in midseason, or any time really. It's harmless, but pointless.

Yeah, ranking NFL teams just good bar talk. Something to chat about, but obviously meaningless.

I don't think the Packers are even top 5 (even as a Packer fanboi). However, the variables may come out and save them this postseason.

If the NFC playoffs are: PHL-DET-GB-NO-AZ-DAL, I'd put Green Bay as a slight favorite, especially if they avoid New Orleans in Louisiana. If SEA or SF show up, Green Bay is done. Matchups. I thought SEA, SF and CHI would be their nemesis in January and all three could miss.

As for Broncos-Pats, I didn't expect Denver to win on the road and was shocked the Pats were +3. Not Manning's fault in this one. He didn't get a lot of help tonight (as he typically does and has, really, since birth) but Denver's special teams and defense doomed his efforts. It happens. Games get out of control -- ask the Packers after the Saints' debacle.

We're still in this weird place where, if you have a top-flight QB, there isn't the feeling that you're out of it even down 37-14. Not until 43-21 and the Pats held did I think this game was over.
