So what's the big obstacle with Kaepernick?

With the experience he has, things like the timeouts and progression through his reads are things he should be able to conquer - or at least show some improvement on.

Is he really just a raw-skills guy who has reached the top of what his QB IQ will be? Is he uncoachable? Is the coaching he's getting not nearly as good as we're all led to believe it is?

Harbaugh and Roman are not great with the play clock either. They had these sorts of problems pretty regularly during Alex Smith's year and a half. It's just worse now because they have a quarterback who is the absolute worst at it and always will be. You might as well tell Shaq to make free throws for all the good it will do to tell Kaepernick to get the play out in time.

Fire Harbaugh and hire Ault -- Kaep's coach at Nevada -- and install the Pistol. That's what Kaep does best.

By what measure? He is 24th in the league in lowest INT percentage. The TD-INT ratio is ordinary at best (17-8). He has three more fumbles than anyone else in the league. And those miscues are contributing heavily to losses (against the Packers and Panthers at least, and the world did seem to have a problem with the Dolphins game too).

He's having a good fantasy year!

Also, by modern Bears QB standards, he's having the greatest year ever.

Cutler is 19th in YPA, seventh in completion percentage, seventh in TDs. He's tied for sixth in interceptions and times sacked (that's most interceptions/sacks, so it's a negative). He's having a perfectly decent year. He is not the problem with the Bears.

He's one of them. Is there a team in the NFL that has more talent at WR1-WR2-RB?

Cutler should be getting more out of the skill players around him.

The fantasy remark was not a joke. He threw three TDs in their last game -- all' meaningless in an embarrassing ass-kicking by the Patriots.

I think he's uncoachable and not very smart.

I put it on him more than the coaches. He's been very mediocre in the season and a half since the Super Bowl. He's had his moments (usually against the Packers), he did everything right in the second half in the MNF game against the Rams earlier this season, but for the most part, he's been mediocre.

Despite their awfulness, my poor Redskins have a decent amount of talent at WR1-WR2-RB1. Morris hasn't had a 100-yard rushing game in the last 15, which is astonishing. And he catches the ball like ass, so......yeah. But the WRs are good!!!

I don't think any team has a better WR1-WR2 and RB combo than the Bears. I don't even think it's close.

Who is the second best? Nelson-Cobb-Lacy?

Cutler has completed a third of his deep passes, which is in the bottom third of the league, according to Pro Football Focus.
