Just don’t give Craggs a company credit card.

Story references his ESPN writing days without telling us that the launching pad of his entire career was a willingness to proclaim the Duke lacrosse players guilty as sin -- even after their innocence became apparent.

How many people are going to accidentally click on this show looking for Game of Thrones?

Interesting read, a combo of flat-out promotion of the show and rationalization if it doesn’t work.

I’m sure this was encouraging for former co-workers to read:

Bomani Jones will admit that, in his previous job as a commentator across ESPN's various platforms, he sometimes just rolled out of bed and started his day. “Before, I would just get on the radio, you hit a switch, give me 10 minutes, and I just go off the top of my head and give it to you,” he says.

I think Jones sole qualification was the willingness to work whenever ESPN Radio scheduled him. The most boring and uninteresting radio show host.

Absolutely the smartest and most interesting guy on ESPN. And it’s not close.

Guessing "stick to sports" will no longer be a thing.

I wonder if they’ll ever turn comments back on.

From its founding, I don't think Deadspin ever stuck to sports.

Who could have ever seen that this was a horrible idea from the start though?

I'm positive they still get some clicks to warrant the site running. It's G/O's sports vertical, so the daily newsletters for actually popular sites like The A.V. Club and Jezebel also include links to Deadspin stories at the bottom. But it's depressing that all of them are shells of what they used to be.

When did Grantland stick to sports?
