Either magic or ... he gave it to him.

Good lord, have you read anything beyond the original deadspin piece? You seem to be stuck in the place where others were three weeks ago, you know, before we actually learned some stuff.

These questions have since been addressed. Te'o had nothing to do with creating it, there was no "relationship" between he and Tuiasasopo, he got the phone number after first establishing an online relationship through the Kekua persona.

It's amazing how some still cling to to their original wild-eyed theories with no supporting evidence, and with everything revealed since being contradictary.

It's amazing that some buy the BS that Te'o has thrown out with his "interviews". Who determined anything he or Roniah has stated as factual? All we know is there are thousands of hours of conversation between two people. Te'o's answers have been contradiction after contradiction.

I am no longer 80% sure he was in on it.

Why alter the story so many times if the truth was he was duped? Who cares? Shit happens. Unfortunately he plays a sport that people like Chris Culliver play and it makes sense to hide and lie if was dating Roniah.

    You're being an idiot.

The theory about this being done to hide a gay relationship with Tuiasasopo has been thoroughly debunked. No evidence supports it. Plenty discredits it. We've now learned that Te'o does have a (heterosexual) dating history at Notre Dame. And the theory makes absolutely no sense anyways, as it it would be utterly illogical to kill her off if that was the motivation, plus there'd be no need to create a "beard" if he already has a history dating women.

And I'm curious when and where you think these two were conducting this supposed gay affair? One's from Hawaii and living in Indiana, the other's in California. They've never resided within two thousand miles of each other. Nor, to my knowledge, is there any evidence that they've ever met in their entire lives. So how do you theorize this was happening?

Sorry, but people still clinging to the gay affair theory are just stupid.

Funny, I think I had a run-in with a few folks earlier in this thread who said Te'o would be embraced by his future NFL teammates. There are a ton of guys like Culliver in the league, though most are not dumb enough to say that in public.

Well, they are both telling the same story, essentially. Te'o admitted he lied to his parents and went with it when he wasn't sure what to believe. I though that Te'o was having a relationship with Tuiasasopo at the start too, but that has since been debunked. He barely knew the guy, they met through Facebook, and he created this fake relationship. There is NO evidence that Te'o was in on it, and in fact everyone associated has said he had no knowledge. This guy fell for Te'o, and Te'o developed an emotional connection with what he thought was a woman who was beautiful in all the pictures he saw of her, he tried to meet up with her, but it always fell through. There certainly were red flags for him, but he was young, stupid, and "in love."

So it's possible Te'o could have a long distance relationship where he falls in love with a women but not one where he fell in love with a guy?

Except he clearly thought he was talking to a woman. Have you followed this story at all. Fake photos, fake voice ... Maybe you can believe Te'o is lying about being gay, and I suppose it's possible that both guys are lying to protect Te'o, but none of the reports I have read seem to support that. As I said, I broached the possibility early on, but it doesn't seem that likely to me now.
