Deadspin: Manti Te'o's dead girlfriend story was a hoax

I'd like someone to dig further into what kind of guy Te'o is on campus. He's obviously revered. But is he a partier? A womanizer? Nerdy type? Honestly, he seems a little Forrest Gump-ish to me. Just kind of a big child who played football at a high level.

 

Be good to find out if he ran the Eric Stratton play after his GF passed.

 

I'd rather have Schapp interviewing Armstrong.

 

Further proving my theory is that these kids know everything about smart phones, texting, posting video, the ins and outs of Facebook, etc., but are very, very dumb when it comes to the affects of those devices and forms of communication.

 

And because, if ND's version of the timeline is accurate, coming out immediately with this info would have turned the weeks leading up to the title game into a complete circus. Musberger would have been talking about Te'o's fake girlfriend instead of McCarron's real one.

 

Saw on Twitter where someone (a reporter, I'm assuming) apparently talked to one of Te'o's teammates, and he said Te'o is a liar and a good actor.

 

You're making too much sense for them.

 

I'm 80% sure I believe this.

 

Well, at least he might have gotten a ceramic pot out of it.

 

Maybe a little of each? I'm leaning toward the thought that he was being hoaxed, didn't know it, and embellished his purely online relationship to make it seem more real to others and possibly himself.

 

At some point, it absolutely seems to be the case that he started milking this situation for all it was worth and shedding crocodile tears for effect. Watch the WoJo interview.
