Maybe he was concerned about what happened to his teamate who tried to get to 2nd base and got accused of sexual assault. The world wide web was a safer choice.

Not sure who said any of this.

    I certainly didn't.

Where did you get this fantasy?

    Because it's fun.

Fun to see Notre Dame scramble, holding a dumb press conference when they should have just released a statement.
Fun to see the perpetrator try to cover both his ass and Te'o's.
Fun to see the traditional media freak out because they got schooled.

I know it's not quite as important or interesting as the usual out of the ordinary stuff sports journalists cover, but I'm rather enjoying it.

Add that this thread has nearly double the number of pages that the Armstrong fraud thread. Never would have thought something would have a greater frenzy than this Oprah week.

That's kind of mind blowing, but it being a unique story botched by the profession led to this Teocrap having lots of legs.

Katie Couric has scored the first on-camera interview with Manti Te'o for her syndicated daytime talk show, "Katie."

Per Rovell, both Couric and Te'o are represented by CAA. As is the guy behind 'Catfish.'

Gossip is the new journalism. And Web clicks are the new assignment editors.

That somebody would ask why all of this nonsense is important to people . . . I would expect.

TigerVols is about the last person I would expect to pose such a question, however. ???

The Internet and all those vitally important Web clicks has put an unprecedented focus on splashy celebrity gossip. It has changed a lot of the rules, too. Not good.
