That does seem to support Teo's version of the story.

But it now begs the question: Who was the girl posing as Lennay in these marathon phone calls? Or was it Tuiasasopo in a disguised girl's voice?

 

So where is Deadspin on this now?

Has it moved on from the "80 percent" thing to "Well...uh....HE STILL LIED ABOUT IT FOR A WHILE AFTER HE FOUND OUT IT WAS A HOAX!!!" yet? Or is it going down with the ship?

 

Not saying these are bullshit, but it appears the cell phone information is just spreadsheets supplied by Te'o or someone in his camp. Not the actual phone records. If you know that a large number of people are questioning your story, why wouldn't you just supply the raw data and mark out the stuff that wasn't pertinent?

Yeah. This is insane. I think when anyone on here passes along information about this whole bizarre shitstorm, we should include "whatever the fuck that means" at the end.

 

I want to read more hand-wringing stories about what a learning experience this was for the media about verifying information. It was so genuine and heartfelt. Change is in the air.

 

Also: More comments here about how shoddy and full of holes Deadspin's reporting is compared to behemoths of journalistic integrity like ESPN.com.
