Secretariat, what were you looking for? Favre's dong above the fold. One of those greeting card recordings inserted so you heard the voicemails every time you opened the paper?

Maybe a Jockey ad starring Favre on the front page?

I wasn't looking for anything, except maybe the desire to cover the negative of Favre with the same fervor the papers covered the rest of Favre. Is that too much to ask? Maybe they did try really hard and struck out badly and repeatedly. That's why I asked. But I still don't think what I said was wrong.

 

It's the same thing as the John Edwards or Tiger Woods stories. Serious journalists are trying to stay on the non-tabloid side of the line, and that's getting harder and harder to do. I think it has way more to do with that than anybody wanting to kiss Favre's ass.

 

Loved the Berman/Ditka/Keyshawn/Jackson crew dipshitting their way through the predictable inanities:

Ditka: A tragedy. Where were the pics two years ago.
Jackson: How can you blame Brett for being upset and crying, 'anything that affects your family' is going to get to you. (You mean like pics dad's boner on the internet?)
All: Will we see shades of the greatness he showed when his father died, or when Deanna had cancer?? The man is a competitor!

I would like to think there was at least partial-human in all of Bristol with access to the control booth screaming, 'Enough! Go to commercial!' but I doubt it.

 

And in the '25 Million Reasons to Live' Department of Not Doing Your Client Any Favors, Sterger's rep states that they are reviewing all their options and will do whatever is best for Jenn.

 

Wonder how far up the list of options you can find the word "Cinemax"?
