To be fair, who knows what he means by her best interest? She hasn't done anything to further the story -- not even several months ago when it first broke. She's stayed silent on it. I don't get the feeling she wants the attention for this particular episode. For being attractive, sure, but not for being the object of some 40-year-old grandpa's affection. Her best interest may well be letting the story die off and go away.

Doesn't it make you want to effing throw up? No one on SlurpFavreTV has the stones to say he might play like crap because his world might just be falling apart.

So much for ESPN's heightened sensitivity to female broadcasters being harassed and stalked.

Yes, when my father died my first thought was to send pictures of my schlong to hot chicks.

    We are all Brett Favre.

I agree with all of this, and in a post that I can't even believe I'm now typing, I'm going to defend Sterger. We could do a lot worse if she's this era's poster girl for Sports Cheesecake Fame Whore. I thought she was a complete joke, but I read some of her SI.com "columns" -- more out of annoyance than genuine interest -- and I came away thinking she wasn't nearly as ridiculous or as big of an airheaded as her first impression leads you to believe. And while she was certainly no Molly Ivins, she seemed smarter than about 50 percent (if not more) of the athletes-turned-journalists who fill up hours of programing every day on ESPN. This is someone who had her breast implants removed because she didn't want to be seen as the All-American Bimbo anymore. (I know what you're thinking: Good luck with that!) She doesn't seem to be courting the pin-up opportunities anymore.

I get the sense that, like countless American 20-somethings, she'd like to be famous, or make a living in "media," but you can hardly say she's trying to take advantage of anything of the situation. How many talk shows did Ines Sainz appear on? Any show that would would have her. Sterger hasn't been anywhere.

In fact, the only questionable thing she's done is be naive enough to share a story with A.J. Dauliero, who is this generation's Max Mercy and proud of it. And as foolish as you think she is for doing that, I'm starting to feel bad for her. It's clear she could leverage this for another 15 minutes in the spotlight, could have done so months ago when Deadspin decided to write about it against her wishes, and yet she's not doing that.

I'm beginning to think, based on Mortensen's and King's most recent reports, that someone is privately pressuring her, or suggesting to her, that it would be in everyone's best interests if she didn't cooperate and this just went away.

A trillion dollar enterprise churns on.

DD--Obviously we have yet to see how this plays out, but if she doesn't cooperate in some way, she's going down as the chick who let a creep get away with sending her a virtual penis.

But as I said earlier, that would be a dream come true for the league, because she'll come off as either complicit or bribed or lying, and the league can say, 'shucks, we tried.'

Why not just have the sitdown with the league, no need to Saenz the experience with a world tour, give the facts, yes I got this stuff but have no idea if it's authentic, thanks bye.

It seems to me like she was scared of shooting him down in the first place, making reference to "ending up in a garbage can" to a Jets employee. Can you imagine all the Farve psychos out there wishing, and perhaps even threatening, her harm right now?

If you look like Jenn Sterger, I suspect you've been getting douchey advances like this from men (and boys) since you were 16. I wondering if, on some level, she's used to this kind of shit, and would rather not cooperate because she thinks even if she does do the minimum, someone will make her regret it.

BTW, here are some examples of the kind of people who want to murder Dauliero. Think Sterger is reading these as she mulls over whether to play ball with Goodell?

Agree completely. But I want to believe that this is 2010, not 1970, and it's reasonable and safe and normal for women to say 'this is not okay' without a societal debate about whether it really is okay.

I couldn't agree with this more. Since I've been bumped to news, I've been forced to cover stuff that is more gossip/tabloid than news. But my ME loves that shit. It drives me nuts.

But again, this is a girl who got "discovered" in large part because she'd show a lot of skin and was a resident hottie at FSU games.

You can't have it both ways.

It amazes me how many people don't know when to use "your" and "you're" - that is if, in fact, Deadspin didn't edit the feedback.
