The GMA appearance was a joke. GMA billed it all morning as "Deanna Favre opens up!" but then when she was on they talked about some book she wrote with a pastor before Robin Roberts lobbed a softball question, "How are you dealing with all this?" Never got into any details or anything. It was a joke and GMA should be ashamed.

I was waiting for Robin to ask:

"D, we are both from the Dirty South. Not a lot of hope there. Once Brett started showing some promise at Southern Miss, you made the gutwrenching choice to become his babymama, even with all his flaws. Talk about that."

I was waiting for Robin to tell Deanna the benefits of munching box rather than marrying a football star.

Deana would counter, "Robin, unless you are Gayle King or Portia De Rossi, munching doesn't pay as well."

Like most modern-day boardroom journalism models, this one aims at nothing but profits, real reporting third or fourth down the line.

Interestingly enough (or perhaps not coincidentally), the Favres and Robin Roberts are from towns less than 20 miles apart.

Why in the hell did anyone green light a book written by Deanna Favre?

Moreover, why in the hell would anyone want to buy it?

"The Cure for the Chronic Life: Overcoming the Hopelessness That Holds You Back."

Check that. I would have bought it ... around 2001 or so.

Then I could have read it and known how to cope with six-interception playoff games, lob passes in Philly (fuck that still pisses me off!) and lazy OT throws against the Giants.

This interview was booked before the Favre-Sterger scandal broke. Friend of mine who attends that pastor's church posted it on Facebook one day before everything came out. I knew at that point that it was going to be an interesting morning ... I'm kind of surprised that they appeared at all.

That pastor's story, by the way, is well worth the read.

I find it offensive that she's considered "A strong woman"

She's with a man who waited nine years after the birth of their first child to marry her and has cheated on her throughout their marriage and now sends pictures of his cock to young women.

Yes, she's battled cancer and her brother died in an ATV accident. It doesn't make her a hero and it shouldn't even make her relevant.

Jenn Sterger, the subject of the NFL's investigation into Brett Favre's behavior, would decline the league's interview request if she and the Vikings quarterback reach a financial settlement that would prevent her from any potential legal action against Favre, the Pioneer Press has learned.

The settlement would include a confidentiality agreement between the two that would effectively stop the NFL, which does not have subpoena power, from speaking with Sterger about Favre.
