Deadspin posts the Favre pics. Ugh.

Look, many Mississippians, including myself, are tired of Brett's soap opera saga regarding whether he comes back or retires.
This has nothing to do with Mississippi, from my perspective.
I'd say the same thing if he was from Minnesota or Massachusetts.

Sterger could have cut this whole thing off right after it happened. She evidently chose not to.
    That's my take.

I thought Daulerio said that Sterger got cold feet when it came to actually giving Deadspin concrete evidence and that he attained the pictures and voicemails from a third party (I assumed it to be one of the friends Sterger referenced showing the material in question to when this rumor first appeared a few months back).

Well, an outlet like Deadspin certainly would take a story like this and run with it.
They are a typical of the "new and often accepted media" that has been created by the Net.

And if it was indeed a third party, then why did she share it with that person and not the Jets or another entity that could have helped.
I simply can't believe that she did nothing at all wrong here.
She does like so many other media-hungry, mid-level "celebs" and routinely gets her face out there in trampy get-up, but wants nobody to ogle over her.

Favre gets zero free passes from me on this, but when a woman receives texts that are inappropriate, especially with pictures of a guy's penis, she has a more direct route within the workplace that she can take if she feels she's feeling uncomfortable about it.

Yes, because a professional sports franchise is a typical workplace. In a battle between a team-employed sideline reporter and the QB you traded for to make a Super Bowl run, the reporter is going to win. Obviously.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Favre, but you have become a possible liability in a sexual harassment suit, so we are going to have to terminate your contract."
"But we host the Patriots on Sunday -- the AFC East title is at stake."
"I'm sorry, Mr. Favre, but we cannot risk a sexual harassment lawsuit. It is that simple."

Assuming Sterger gets several million in a settlement with Favre for not cooperating with the NFL, I won't begrudge her a single cent.

She didn't ask for any of this. If she takes advantage of it, good for her...

Why would Favre pay her shit?

The Minnesota season is in the crapper, he's injured and if he gets suspended, so what?

If he gets suspeneded for three games, it will cost him $5 million and possibly tens of millions in endorsements over the rest of his life. Favre is one of the few who will be making about $3 million a year in endorsements for the next 20 years and he very well might not get those if he's forever known as the guy who sent pictures of his junk to a NFL employee.

Versus cancels Jenn Sterger's show, citing poor ratings.

I would think a channel like Versus would hype the crap out of that show and people would tune in out of morbid curiosity to see what the big deal is about Sterger.

That would buy them at least a few weeks. :D

    Maybe it did.

Umm, you would think. But Versus is the most craptacullarly run network this side of OWN. There's no surprise that (a) the show failed to ever even mention on-air Jenn's situation and (b) that the show went down in flames.

As with every other part of this annoying story, I'm just guessing there's a lot more to it than we know, and will wait breathlessly for the rest of the details to gurgle to the surface.
