Deadspin's List of the 10 Worst Men In Sports

1) Mitch Albom -- do you want me to start the reasons? Cloying, fawning, self-promoting, condescending manufacturer of facts?

 

Both of the Deadspin lists were pretty unimpressive.

 

How did Don King not make that list?

Siphon off boxers' earnings so they end up bankrupt. Manipulate a sport so that rankings, and God knows what else, are fixed.

And oh yeah, when he was 35, he stomped a guy to death.

 

This sounds like fun. But in thinking about my list, I'm not sure which is more objectionable — Michael Vick or the people who root for him. I'll have to mull that one for a bit.

Baron, there's a goodly portion of the online world that has grown up following MMA a lot and boxing not at all. I think Deadspin doesn't see boxing as significant enough to give a damn what King did or does.

 

Late to the party, but did any of you guys actually click the links for Dualerio's write up? A bunch of them link back here and are comments written by Double J, Hondo and others.

 

Watching last week's Onion show on Comedy Central today and the lead "story" was about a fight in which an overmatched boxer was expected to die, thus giving the sport hope it once again be relevant. Fans were pissed when he survived.
