Dear blustery old district manager that thinks he can talk to me like an employee.

I'm an independent merchandiser. When you want to approach me by introducing yourself first to talk to me, we'll talk. But you start with what's your name and we have a problem, you're right, we do. But not the one you think. And don't threaten me about going over my head. I already took care of that by being my own boss.

 

So take that, everybody!!!!

 

What does this have to do with our business?

 

Um, nothing. It's not a prerequisite to make all stories about sports journalism now, is it?

 

It would make sense on a sports journalism board. RickStain has the market cornered on stories from his other job.

 

I like to be reminded that other ways of making a living can suck, too.

I was envying the garbage men with their early hours and sturdy gloves earlier today.

I have been a member on this board for years. At least five. I've been fired because of this site from a sports position. I've been hired on here as well.

I'm now out of the biz but like to keep up with my friends on here.

Don't you dare question my right to post on here. Whether its sj related or my airline job or this.

That's fine, but the humor of the thread is laughing about our common experiences. Maybe the thread should go on Anything Goes if it's not about the industry?

 

There's a very easy way to filter out posts you'd rather not read.

 

Not to be a jerk about it, but I had the same reaction as Stitch ... wondering why the direction had shifted away from the subject of telephone dimwits on a journalism topic board.

In the grand scheme of things, it's not that big a deal, but the thought did cross my mind.
