There were witnesses on the train who saw Sykes shoot the cop. I think there was someone else in the car.

And then the helicopter flies off leaving the ship capsized.

Speaking of deceptively dark, I remember the one time (late 90s) when network TV (I think it was NBC), televised The Paper as one of their nightly movies.

I remember in the previews, they showed the fight scene at the printing press and a couple other dramatic scenes, never showed the comedy parts and made it out like it was this dark movie.

And we’re left to think whether 52-year-old Red Buttons is going to hook up with 30-year-old Carol Lynley.

I will always watch Quick Change if I see it available or playing. It’s that good. So many one-liners.

Dennis Quaid was my favorite actor until about 1990. Right Stuff. The Big Easy. Everybody’s All-American. But his personal life kept him from A-list status. He was Swayze without the action moves and Costner without the modest charm.

Never saw that movie, so this makes my day already ...

Oh, that’s interesting. Obviously not a comedy. But not “dark.” Guess it’s best classified as a dramedy.

Other than the silly 8 pm deadline (in 1994, not today) I always thought that movie got the feel of an old school newsroom and the personalities exactly right.

Another good Randy Quaid role there, too.

I think Quaid is my guy again. In 15 years, I hope to have a similar picture taken of me.

Jack Quaid may leave Dad and Uncle behind career-wise. His biggest competition for roles is Bill Hader.

The ending of Last American Virgin was not what anyone expected considering all of the other '80s high school flicks.
