    You're generalizing.

    Where are the quotes?

We can discuss actual quotes and determine if they're accurate, over the top, or vile rhetoric.

Absent quotes, I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be reacting to.

Well the fact that you focused on the idea that they were supposedly promoting "peace" and "harmony" and ignored the fact they were fucking anarchists that ran around blowing shit up is pretty ridiculous.

Good thing it's not baseball season. "God Bless America" would be on an endless loop right now.

Did this portion of the quote not transmit to your computer screen?

On the other hand, I suspect I'm romanticizing the period and there were much darker undercurrents than that.

My point isn't to elevate the '60s. It's that I find it difficult to make one-to-one comparisons between then and now

Our favorite Kansas church is protesting at the funerals. Why can't someone open fire on them?

A tiny percentage were "fucking anarchists blowing shit up."

For me, it wasn't about interrupting games to play "God Bless America" and empty gestures like that.

It was more like, "You need to start reading the A section, not just tossing it aside on the way to the sports section."

You go find the quotes, Mr. Innocence.

    Better yet: Ignore them.

After every terror attack, we're sold by some that if we change our way of life, the terrorists have won.

That's kind of how I feel here.

Obviously, I don't want to see members of Congress or the Judiciary targeted, and if there are credible threats, they should receive appropriate security.

But, I'd hate to see us overreact with legislation and by surrounding all of these folks with a security bubble. That's not what our country is about.

Prior to this incident, I can't think of an attempt on a politicians life post Hinkley's attempt on Reagan's life in '81.

    That's a pretty good record.

And, the attempts on Reagan & Ford weren't really political.

You'd have to go back to the '60's to find a political assassination that was politically motivated.

And they were supported/cheered on by thousands more.

While still not a large percentage, you can't only focus on the few that carried out such acts.

These aren't talk radio pundits. They're people protesting at a 9-year-old's funeral.
