Why did this have to turn into another Sarah Palin thread? I am sick of her, and I am sick of the fact that some people are still trying to make her pertinent to this story. She just isn't.

Um, because Sarah Palin released a nearly 8-minute video in which she squarely inserts herself into the middle of this story by comparing herself to 2,000 years of Jewish persecution.

 

I honestly can't believe how tone-deaf she is. Just a stunning lack of self-awareness.

I understand trying to defend yourself. But the lack of tact and timing is breathtaking.

She's become a big dumb animal that you can poke with a stick.

 

No, she is not. She is not the reason innocent people were murdered. It's getting asinine.

I agree her response was stupid. But anyone who thinks she actually meant to offend Jews is just trying to score political points. Of course she didn't know what the hell she was saying. She rarely does. Of course her timing was bad. It always is. But this is not about her, whether she or anybody else wants it to be.

Somewhere along the way, common sense became irrelevant to political arguments. Not just here, but everywhere.

 

Palin is the left's latest obsession. She has stumbled her way to national relevance, but she is in no way worth the time and effort the left wastes on her. But liberals need something to consume them, so as long as she has any share of the spotlight, the left will never get around to doing anything of substance. And for that, we thank you.
