I would love to start a thread - were we allowed to - on who the most honorable, intellectually honest members of Congress are. In other words, who would we absolutely know were not one of the people pushing such a story.

Dick Lugar comes to mind as an honorable Congressman. Probably Olympia Snowe and Mark Pryor also make the list.

It was an organizing event, not a fundraiser.

He presided over the services in the House. He stopped by an event on his way home.

It's an absurd story, pushed by anonymous Democratic political aides, for political gain.

I thought this was the kind of thing we were calling for an end to and were supposed to criticize in light of our new policy towards civil discourse.

Really? I thought we were just calling for an end to implied violence. Deceitfulness is still okay.

I'm confident that you'd rush to the defense of Nancy Pelosi were the roles reversed. Supremely confident.

 

I'm not sure YF is rushing to Boehner's defense. He may think he made a misstep. But I think he wants the criticism to be of what actually occurred, not a hyperbolized version of it.

 

You said that Peter King and others made silly proposals based loosely on this tragedy.
