    One hundred percent dead-on.

And to second this, Ed Schultz came on my TV yesterday (I watch MSNBC, but I never watch Schultz), and the bumbling blowhard was going on about how ridiculous it was that House Republicans wouldn't change the name of the health reform repeal because it had "job killing" in it. He said something to the effect of, "Do Republicans really want to have 'killing' in the title of this bill?" Who gives a shit what the name of it is?

Schultz could have made the point that repealing the health care law will rollback expanded coverage of mental health care, and instead he's talking about the name of the bill and trying to score points off that.

I can't even watch those blowhards. Everything that comes out of their mouth is tainted by their agenda. I was just talking yesterday to someone about Rachel Maddow's supposed big bitch slap to Obama a couple years ago for supporting civil unions, but not gay marriage. The smartest girl in the room just thought it was ridiculous and hypocritical, without even addressing for a second why it might make sense. But since she was speaking to the choir, it was cheered from every corner.

Even intellectuals don't actually make intellectual arguments on cable news networks.

It would only work if you could get the criminals to join the boycott also.

Michael Steele just opened the RNC meeting -- his last, no doubt, since the party's decided they no longer need to pretend they like minorities so they're going to replace their favorite token today -- by holding a moment of silence for "Jenny" Giffords.

I honestly think the country would be better off without the cable "news" channels.

From say 6pm on whether it be MSNBC or Fox it's a wasteland of useless discussion with little or no intellectual. Both networks do a great disservice to the country in what they are putting out.

It's a sad commentary to say that too few who watch are equipped to understand the difference between real news and manipulation.

I used to like the News with Brian Williams on MSNBC.

A one hour straight news program in prime time was nice.

But, now, they figure that anyone who is interested enough already knows the news of the day, so it's all "analysis," opinion, and debate.

I did too. By the time it came on I was done with day and had the time to watch. Rarely at 6:30 do I have the time to focus on the news.

I do watch Morning Joe because they get some interesting guests and try to offer balance. But even that show has too much blather at times.

The genius of Roger Ailes was the realization you could make a lot of money in "news" by telling people only what they wanted to hear.

To those who complain about MSNBC...without Fox News, there would be no MSNBC (at least as we know it now). The success of Fox as the conservative battlestar is what created the demand for a liberal alternative.
Without O'Reilly, there would be no Olbermann. And so on.
