Update: Some on the right continues to grasp at anything it can to try and demean what was a moment for people to come together. The latest is a widely-circulated post from the Fire Andrea Mitchell blog entitled “‘Together We Thrive’ slogan first used by Obama’s Organizing for America February of 2008.” See if you can spot the lies:

Hey. don’t take my word for it. Check it out at the Organizing for America blog archive. Oh, and in case the Obama regime that this has gotten out and decides to this page,Free Republic has a screen shot. Yes, this is the same slogan that was on all those t-shirts passed out to the cheering section for Obama last night at the basketball arena.

The post links to a blog on MyBarackObama.com (now called Organizing for America) that uses “Together We Thrive” as its headline. At the bottom of that blog, of course, is the tidbit that makes this entire premise a lie:

Content on blogs in My.BarackObama represents the opinions of community members and in no way should be interpreted as endorsed or approved by the campaign.

As the promoters of this lie well know, MyBarackObama.com was a user-controlled forum, and this blogger had as much to do OFA as one of our commenters has to do with Mediaite.

So it's just a coincidence that the University of Arizona picked the exact same words. You keep buying.

And again, like I said, I don't care. But why did they have to lie, and how did they have such a detailed "explanation" so readily available for when their "coincidence" was discovered?

And nice use of the ominous "they" in your post. The UA provided the shirts. The UA said a student designed them. Not a "they" but the University of Arizona. Maybe the student came across the phrase on that community blog and used it. No, "they" had an explanation ready. Folks who can, you know, read saw the shirters were lying about the phrase being used by Obama's campaign.

But, since you don't care, we can just drop it entirely, right?

Ummm, what!?!

Law enforcement officials said Friday they have multiple photos of Jared L. Loughner posing with a Glock 9mm pistol next to his naked buttocks and dressed in a bright red g-string. It is the same model of weapon as the one the police say Mr. Loughner used last Saturday to kill six people, including a federal judge and a 9-year-old girl, and to wound 14 others, including an Arizona congresswoman.

The photos were turned over to the police by Walgreens, where Mr. Loughner had taken them to be developed. In some of the photos he is holding the gun near his crotch, and in others, presumably shot in a mirror, he is holding the gun next to his buttocks, the police said. It was not clear when the photos, which are now in F.B.I. custody, were taken. Mr. Loughner dropped off the 35 millimeter film to Walgreens on the day before the shooting.
