I, too, respect Vic Lombardi. But he's wrong on this.

Now, if Kiszla comes out and says it was a bad look, I'll need to for one second re-evaluate things.

I think a laptop in the Cup, cigar in mouth and holding your iPhone to your ear why typing would be a better image. Not perfect, but better.

He's wrong and even in a TV point of view. But his whole being essentially a team employee thing completely removes credibility from this. I bet he has a different take if he was on the ground for Channel 4, but maybe not.

Also, that Westword story was pretty good. It specifically used a tweet reference to Almost Famous, which is the perfect take.

Agreed. And also no surprise Douche-Mac sided with Chambers because he's a pal.

In the 1990s, the managing editor in our newsroom had a rule. Anybody who was given any gift that obviously wouldn't have come if you weren't working in a newspaper newsroom had to turn it in and it was then, in turn, donated to charity.

    What gift wouldn't have qualified?

If it was like our department, which had pretty much an identical rule, there weren't many gifts that got under that wire.

Stanley Cup-winning journalists must be really cool then.

At one of my old shops we once had to reprimand a writer for attending a Trump rally and taking a bunch of selfies from there and tweeting them out
