Minor league team I covered won their Cup and my buddy was FURIOUS they didn't give me a ring. I told him I would not have taken it had they offered. He couldn't understand why they didn't offer and why I would have turned it down if they had. Of course, he thought because I was i the GWAA I could play Congressional when I was in DC simply by calling them up and requesting a tee time. I told him people join clubs like that to get away from people like me. Fans just don't get it and this guy is clearly a fan boy. Embarrassing on so many levels. If you want to do that crap, do it in private. But don't publicize it.

Judging by how he got dragged in the replies, it would seem he's been an Avs stenographer for quite a while now...

The reporters who celebrate championships they didn’t win usually don’t write tough stories.

To circle back to Vic Lombardi and how his comment has no bearing on any of this, just look at all the "media" awesomeness in this tweet. Nothing he did here is wrong considering he is an employee of the team, but he can't defend the action of an outside journalist doing the same crap as a result.

There must be something about covering Kroenke-owned teams:

Even slighter aside: many, Many, MANY moons ago, I was covering a high school baseball game and was in the dugouts pregame copying lineups. A few of the kids were chewing tobacco and I told them that was a terrible idea. I also noted they were of course under no obligation to listen to me, but I was old enough (only a few years older than them at that point, but of course in your teens a 20-something may as well be 200 years old) to know of horror stories stemming from chewing and how addictive it could be. No idea if they listened, but they seemed receptive. Of course they may have spit their tobacco at me as I left, who knows?

Wish Jourdan wouldn't post that, though she's been in hotter water over social media ...

I find this whole thing weird and the clown who took the pic and posted all over social, tweeted about not confusing bloggers with journalism - or was it Lombardi who stuck up for him who tweeted that - .....well holding the Cup with a cigar is about what a real journalist would expect of a fanboi isn't it?
