You know what's really depressing? Trying to fix someone else's depression.

    Oh, yeah, and homeless people.

That hasn't stopped some of you on this thread from trying. ::)

Ain't that the truth. (Said completely innocently, because I haven't.)

There are a lot of people out there who are truly depressed and need clinical help...

There are also a lot of whiny pussies who are unwilling to make changes in their lives and use it as an excuse for everything...

Fudgie's right. It is a medical and chemical issue. There's a reason I've been on an anti-depressant for a year now. It stabilizes my mood. I don't have wild mood swings anymore. I don't go from deliriously happy to uncontrollably angry to having suicidal feelings in the matter of a sentence.

  7. Can I play chess with someone's grandfather? I'm feeling kind of down.

It's a suggestion for people to get out of the house and try to liven their day. I'm not saying it's the end all for solving depression. Hell, if it was, I would be a multi-millionaire right now.

    I'm absolutely glad for that.

But if you have a bad week, I sure hope you're looking for professional help first. And I don't mean the self-annointed professionals here.

Is whiny pussy a clinical term? What is the DSM-IV code?

I'm with them. Funny, how we never heard of this a decade ago and somehow the world didn't end.
