Dude, I talk to people all the fucking time, always have. I ask people what they like. I ask people what they want, the things they like to see in the paper.

Why are you so bent on hating every little thing? If I may ask, what exactly is your role at your paper?

And if you design pages, how about you post a few of them for us to critique?

How about if you produce some of these people you say you talk to? Your post makes it sound like it purely hypothetical, which it probably is since it's the usual designer bullshit that idiots are allowed to spout because editors are too gutless to put a stop to it.

You produce some REAL readers, not morons like Bonita Burton and her ilk, and then I'll stand corrected.
