    First time, long time.

Fort Worth has a great template for these big game stories. I love packaging the breakout information with the score, but I often wonder if that takes away from thinking about more graphic options below that. Any Fort Worth folks care to comment?

Other than that, great headline, great lede photo, no visual or headline heirarchy issues. That secondary Texas Tech photo feels a little small, but that could just be the size of the page. Good stuff.

That "BCS Top 10" chart seems a little bulky to me, but otherwise I think this page is a'ight.
Maybe thinning out the BCS chart a bit would have allowed for the Texas Tech photo to be a little wider?

And welcome Rob. Nice to have you around these parts. :D

Ladies and gentlemen, we have a true great among us. Mr. Rob Schneider, everybody. Every time I see him post something on visualeditors.com or newspagedesigner, my loathing (which is really admiration and jealousy) grows by leaps and bounds.

Anyway, I like the ST page. Solid. Not great, but solid. And I'll take a solid page any day of the week. Was gonna say something about the BCS thing, but hit submit and saw Carrie beat me to it.

    Love the headline, too.

My only critique is that the two photos look a lot alike. I would have tried to find something different for the Tech photo.

If it were a talking newspaper, Tom Brady would be shouting "Jazz hands everybody!"

Despite the fact there are only two real pieces of art, it doesn't feel too gray to me.

The package above the main hed is at the right depth so as not to take away from the package, so it doesn't distract. I'd almost prefer not to have a deck on the gamer, just because it's so narrow already, and those first two columns become so tight.

But overall, it's clean. I like it.

Hey Schneider, how about a drinking game of RBI Baseball.

In general, any front that can start four stories, get 4x6 dominant art out there and still provide the info extras that front does ... I love it.

(P.S. Welcome from another fan, Rob.)

Holy Christ, this is the nicest, most cordial sportsjournalists.com thread I've ever read. Where's Wordhawk when you need him! Seriously, thanks everyone for the compliments. I just wish I knew who the hell you all were! But give me time.
