I agree, its a good thread. As a designer, I like reading feedback. But I sure as hell don't like seeing someone anonymously call a page garbage without offering any sort of guidance or constructivity. Its gutless.

Frankly, I'm a little more pissed about VJ's statements than DyePack's.

To come in on the 52nd page of a constructive thread, where we've been learning things and trading ideas, and to equate it with some of the other bullshit on here is small-minded.

To DyePack, I'd just say to be a little more grown-up about it. We try to handle things a little more professionally on this one thread.

To VJ ... if you don't like it, you know where the door is. Just hit Alt-F4.

BTW, this isnt even my page, I just think it would suck to be this person and stumble onto this quality thread and see someone call their page garbage.

I like this thread for the mere fact everyone has an opinion on a designed page.

If you can't take criticism, then you shouldn't be in this business.

Out of the gazillion pages on this thread, I've read about half of 'em and it's obvious the criticism is intended to make someone a better designer, not to trash he or she as an individual.

So to continue this back and forth discussion of good pages, I offer this page.

Props to the Miami Herald designer. I like the concept a lot.

Let me know if that suits you fine people. We know that no one here ever runs down anyone else's work.

That's still the way it should be handled. Well done. And I bet you didn't even lose any blood.

Considering I'm not running down anyone's work or criticizing my paper, I really don't think "outing" me is a big deal. But hey, if that would make you feel better, go right ahead.

No, you're telling us how to handle things. Be the bigger man and out yourself. :)

I'm not telling you anything, you didn't call anyone's page garbage. Almost everything on this thread has been very useful to people.
