You'd have to ask the site owner about that.

And aren't you outing? Yes? No? Maybe so?

I contacted the owner of the site dooley mentioned. He says he may come on here and make a post to try to clear things up.

He also says there is too much hard reverse on the Scottsdale page, and that dips**t designers keep doing things like this. I told him that wouldn't be viewed as constructive.

Back to the page... I was told that white text on a black backgroud was tough for color-blind people to read. Is that true? Or was that just a ploy to keep me from doing it without expressly telling me I couldn't?

It can be difficult to read. Not sure that it would be moreso with colorblind people though. I don't mind using it on occasion, but I think this page has too much reverse text. The CP head also doesn't seem to go with the package. It's just kinda floating up there on its own, not attached to anything.

Also, if your presses struggle to put out decent quality with normal pages, you want to stay far away from big reverse type packages.

one thing I do to combat bad presses is to make the type a little larger than normal.

and the thought that people don't care about a eye catching design.... I guess billboards are useless.

On the "Going out on top" page, the trick is too have a lot of elements but not appear busy. Get rid of the black, indent the whole package with some white space, look at more white space between your elements and be willing to sacrifice some art or at least the size of some of it and maybe the size of some of the text. You will have a cleaner look that is more inviting. Right now it's just too much too deal with and makes me want to turn the page. It is a cool content idea and would be a fun quick read if it wasn't so hard too read. Keep trying.

Maybe you could use the black background and reverse type on this to highlight one item, but as a whole I echo the sentiment that it doesn't work. I always try to keep the amount of copy I reverse to a minimum when I do it, and always run it a little bigger. And, another warning for those wanting to use it out there, be wary of certain fonts. They can be nightmares in reverse unless they're run huge. Can't think of any off the top of my head, but I know I've run into it before.
