He'll never get tossed in the primary. Doubt anyone is even running against him. And we can't really afford to give up yet another seat in the House.

Even tho they are the same, Mama Cheeks will play the race card against Hansen Clarke. Count it.

IIRC, Mama Cheeks almost got booted out two years ago in the primary. I believe there were three Democratic candidates and two of them really split the vote, which allowed Cheeks to win the primary.

And whoever won that primary was going to win the general election in that district.

The conspiracy theorists think that Mama Cheeks put up one of the candidates so the vote would be split so she would advance.

Mama Cheeks got beaten badly in the primary in two overwhelmingly white suburbs. Funny, but after she was re-elected, she moved one of her offices out of one of those suburbs.

Here come the Feds. After Papa.

What do you think the odds are that Mama Cheeks was flittering around in proximity to all this freely flowing cash and never dipped her hand in?

    Of course. Zero point zero.

They've been at it for five years. Sounds like they've collected enough evidence. Why no indictment?

    a) there are political considerations which cannot be commented upon.

    b) the Feds like to wait to file charges until they have enough evidence to nail the defendants to the wall.

Starman - it seems highly disingenuous that you would participate in a political thread.

At this point it's a criminal thread. No further references to politics.

If it involves politicians it's a political thread.

Possibly. Take it to the authorities if you so desire; their decision shall stand. It is to be hoped that any such decision will be applied uniformly and without exception across the board.
