This would be a huge mistake... hope someone wakes up tomorrow morning and realizes it...

In other words, try to bullshit the customer that you really give a fuck about what they want from you.

I think tomorrow will be the first sign of whether newspapers will survive or not. The Detroit Media Partnership is ready for some backlash. But if customers fight back with overwhelming support of home delivery of their print product you never know what will happen. People are going to be furious about this. And if they care enough and call and email enough complaints who knows. Maybe it will be enough from other publishers to stop doing this.

But are they stubborn enough to back down if there's a big enough backlash...

Isn't this just the future of our business, sadly? Isn't this what Sporting News did in showing everyone the model? I hate, really hate to say this, but I get my own paper delivered daily and rarely read it. I read what I want online. Getting the paper, an exact replica delivered in my email inbox seems like a good idea.
    What am I missing?

Doesn't matter if you are reading it or not. You are buying it. Many people do still read it.

Local news aired a report interviewing a Freep reporter. He says bosses have told him they will publish seven days a week. But may not deliver seven days.

Of course, who knows how truthful the suits are.

Presser is 11 a.m. Local stations are supposed to be airing it live. Probably stream it on their web site (although I don't know that for sure).

Eh, was just surfing after the Red Wings game. I hit Fox 2 and saw the promo, so I kept it on to see what they say.

Plus, the Simpsons are on at 11.

I never turned Prison Break off. Otherwise I'd watch the folks over at WXYZ, because 2 plus 4 are still less than 7.
