    Boots, you miss the point. I think he thought "nappy-headed ho's" would sound funny because it would sound oh-so hip in an ironic kind of way -- he'd never call these women that to their faces because it's just too outrageous, even to him.

    Of course, it wasn't funny; it was stupid and insensitive, and it wasn't hip at all. It made him look as if he is out of touch, but I reached that conclusion four or five years ago, when I stopped listening to his show because he was just so goddamn grouchy.

    I heard some Dynamite Hack on a Nothin'-but-90s-nooner today.
    They talked about "grabbin' a stoopid bitch by her nasty-ass weave" and how he "reached back like a pimp and I smacked da ho."

    Boom, I understand what you mean about some of hip hop. But don't put down all of hip hop. Just because you like hip hop DOES NOT mean you like gangsta rap.

    Agree chuck - hip hop is a much broader term and range of music. Gansta rap is a more precise term to use.

    By the way, you can't argue that the Dixie Chicks deserve to suffer no consequences for their utterances and then demand that Don Imus be fired. It's one or the other.

    That may be the stupidest thing I've ever read on this site, which takes some doing. Comparing the Dixie Chicks' fair comment about an elected leader with a racial slur about some college basketball players actually makes posting rap lyrics look thoughtful.
