It's two weeks for the I-Man

...and a hypocrite. And Jesse and Al call themselves ministers. ::)

The I-Man got two weeks off from MSNBC and WFAN/CBS for it: http://www.thestar.com/News/article/201067

I knew he wouldn't get canned. If Sharpton can get away with bullshit, then all bullshitters think and act alike. ;)

Head to the ranch old man and go rope some prairie dogs.

Because too many people think it's perfectly okay to be a racist as long as you're not white.

And because too many white people are afflicted with Retroactive Guilt Syndrome, which encourages and often bullies them into feeling shame for something they had nothing to do with, something that happened years, decades or even centuries before they were born. Of course, this prevents them from coming forward to protect other white people who are or have been falsely accused of racism.

And because too many people of all races who might be inclined to step up and say "that's not right" to the likes of Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are afraid to do so, at the risk of being called racists by the real racists of today or by the RGS crowd, who often work together on such campaigns of intimidation.

Society doesn't hold blacks as accountable and responsible for their actions as other groups of people because society doesn't think as capable as others. Everytime Al Sharpton gets on TV and speaks without wearing a big red nose and size 44 shoes society is telling black folk that they just aren't as good as other people.

  5. How does one "suspend" Jesse Jackson, exactly?
    Who does the suspending?
    From what is he suspended?
How does Glenn Beck still have a show at all?
These are only four of my several questions this morning.
Oh, and on balance, black folks don't get away with stuff while unfortunate white people get blamed. Pass it on.

fenian you really need help for your retroactive guilt syndrome. You are losing all perspective.

Nice of Gwen to write "It isn't about me" while writing a column about — guess who — "me."

I don't understand why Imus doesn't just come right out and say, "I was trying to play off of hip-hop slang. Obviously, it was insensitive and wrong for me to attempt to do that."

It's clear that the slang of 22-year-old rappers doesn't work well in the hands of 55-year-old white talk radio hosts.

Imus was trying to say that they looked like some tough f-ing women.

    I don't think he's racist.

I know they can't be suspended per se, but groups they represent and incite have taken lives. And they are not held accountable for it.
Take Rev. Al as an example - after the Brawley case, his reputation in the community (white and black) did not change. He still held the same power, even after making a blunder of those proportions.

So, if a black talk-show host said the same thing, would there be the same outrage?

Kornheiser, talking about it on his show, wonders rhetorically what changed in a week? If it was bad last Tuesday, why did it take until Monday for the suspension to be handed out?

Why is it "It's just Al being Al" or "It's just Charles being Charles" or "Cynthia being Cynthia" but not "Imus being Imus"

As long as different standards of speech and conduct apply to different people based on complextion, alleged race, or socioeconomic condition then different opportunites and expectations will continue to exist.
Everytime Jesse starts to rhyme or Al starts to shout , 10,000 people will say how nice it is that Obama can speak clearly and never actually listen to what he has to say.
