You think if he wasn't on Cable TV, this would have gotten half the play?

I realize it gets alll of this play because it was on MSNBC.
But you said it wasn't on public airwaves, which is not true.

Somewhere in heaven or hell (I can't say which, but the safe money is probably on hell), Easy-E is flipping out right now, furious that you just attributed one of his lyrics to a white, one-(covered)hit wonder, post-grunge band from Austin.

Meanwhile back in the real world:

    MSNBC News Services
Updated: 1 hour, 54 minutes ago

BAGHDAD, Iraq - A woman with explosives hidden beneath her black abaya detonated them Tuesday in a crowd of about 200 police recruits northeast of Baghdad, killing at least 16 people, police and hospital officials said.

And that lie makes my quoting the PM (there were two, one after the other and I'll just quote the most condescending part... the beginning)--which I never asked for or responded to--fair game:

    ....

I'm not your "son," and although I have a lot to learn, it's not from a blowhard, nothing like you... And with this, we cement that you are 1) an attention seeker and a loser (see various threads) 2) a condescending prick, who hysterically has nothing to justify the condescension in anyone's eyes, and 3) a liar.

... waiting for another barrage of condescending PMs (which you'll deny).

I would argue that the only reason he was suspended is because it's the only way to make this go away... If he's not around, there will be nothing new to add to the story...

My biggest issue with this is why is this situation any different/worse than anything else Imus has said over the years?

He's said things about Tiger Woods or asian baseball players that are 100X worse and he referred to an African-American political reporter as "the cleaning lady"

What he said was stupid and it wasn't even remotely funny, but I don't understand why this is any bigger deal than anything he's done in the past...

Can't help you there, Mizzou. I've never listened to Imus, so I wouldn't know any of that.

Son, I have not sent you a damn PM about this issue. You need to get your shit together and stop lying. What is your problem?
Now back to the issue at hand, notice this little diddy from Howard Stern taken from an ESPN story:
Even Howard Stern of Sirius Satellite Radio, a big fan of unrestricted content, mocked Imus' apology, according to the New York Daily News. "He's apologizing like a guy who got his first broadcasting job," Stern said. "He should have said, '[expletive] you, it's a joke."'

    What I said:

    What you said:

The post in which you called me a bigot:

And the PM fI referred to, in which you came off like a condescending prick (and which now apparently has you calling me a bigot on other threads to try to piss me off):

    ....

Others can judge for themselves who the liar is.

I agree with Stern... If Imus had said, "It was a joke, it was stupid, I apologize..." and left it at that, this would have gone away... He made the matter much worse, and that may be because he was told he had to address the matter... I don't know...
