On no level am I defending Imus, but I am extremely stunned that people are acting like stupid comments from a shock jock are the end of the world as we know it...

 

Doesn't mean we should ignore the Imus story, though, when Rutgers finally had something to say about it.

I'm a Howard Stern guy, but at one point when Stern was unavailable where I lived, I listened to Imus and he said stuff that was worse than this at least once a week...

 

I can only equate it this way. If my daughter was on that team and he said that, I'd be ready to kick his ass or he'd kick mine. No if ands or buts. Calling any woman a ho is wrong. He and his stooge McGuirk specifically labeled the Rutgers team.
Yes, its a story because of who said it, the context that the statement was in, and where it happened.
How long will it continue to be a story? I can't answer that.
And Big Buckin Agate_Monkey, you are right. I just couldn't layoff that fastball down the pike. It was a uncalled for but then again, I don't even know who that guy is and for him to come on with a statement to me, well I felt it deserved an answer.
