I was imitating Dave Chapple and was sure to use the friendly gansta rap spelling.

Mike and The Mad Dog spent four hours talking about Imus and race relations in America on their show today. I know this because we had the YES simulcast of the show on today in the office. Mike and The Mad Dog talking race relations in America. I'd rather hear Bozo The Clown and Kermit The Fucking Frog talk about race in American than those two blowhards.

I liked the caller from Harlem who just started screaming over and over that Mad Dog was a punk.

I give them both credit though. They could have jumped ship like others but they stood by Imus who made both of their careers.

Anyone recall the day Al Sharpton was on Imus when he wanted to sell his book. He was actually in studio at WFAN.

Good question from the letters thread over at Romenesko:

Is Imus suspended with or without pay?

    Dear Jesse...
I suggest you check facts before screaming racism...

"This is NBC's standard. The same station that has no black hosts on MSNBC, no black hosts on CNBC, this is their standard. It says an awful lot about this station... Can we use this moment to desegregate the media?"

Hmmm Alison Stewart hosts a show every day...looks black to me...
Lester Holt hosts many shows there...looks black to me..

    Don Imus' Executive Producer? Black

Will anyone bother to correct Jesse and his facts? Or will anyone who tries to be called racist? HOW DARE YOU CORRECT HIM!!!

no because the moderators understood the friendly context in which it was offered. Again-- I was sure to use the friendly gansta rap spelling.

Howard did a great job of following that advice after the Selena incident of a decade ago . . . . .

Russo continually ranted that Imus made fun of him and his family, but that it wasn't a big deal. I don't think he quite grasped the fact that Imus didn't use a racial slur to mock the Russo family. Mantits Francesa harped on the fact that two weeks off of t.v. and radio is a "punishment."

Friendly context?! Since when have we been friends Boom?
    It was completely unnecessary.
