307 posts, dignan, and you managed to piss off a bunch of people who are almost universally well-liked and respected around here.

    Well played.

Since when was nappy-headed race-specific? When your hair is frizzy, kinky or generally disheveled, it's nappy. Unless me and all my friends have been misusing that term since junior high school.

Ho might be derogatory, but it's not racist.

Nappy-headed has always been race-specific. Your ignorance is appalling.

    as should you.

From the Webster's New World College Dictionary on my desk:

nappy (adj) kinky; said esp. of the hair of blacks and used derogatorily or contemptuously.

Nappy-headed -- especially when used by a white man to describe black women -- is certainly race specific.

Wow, I must be a racist then. That proves it. Didn't know improper usage of the word "nappy" was the telltale sign. All my friends must be racists too, even the black ones who said my hair looked nappy. Thank you, everyone, for enlightening me. Guess I should go out and buy some white sheets.

See if you can get a clue while you're out there, too

If you don't like being called racist, perhaps you should avoid saying it's OK for people to make racist comments in the future.

Or telling someone else to buy a dictionary when you, yourself, don't know the definition of a word.

That's enough to get you in a cromulent amount of trouble.
