Did Mitt Romney assault a prep school classmate?

Except nobody is arguing or trying to make the argument that "Obama ruined the economy" just that he has been like a deer in headlights and clueless in terms of trying to fix what ails it.

    Huge difference.

Stop making straw man arguments because you have nothing meaningful to add.

You're talking about something totally different. Busting balls with your friends doesn't go away, and nor should it -- it's part of the relationship and everyone gives and takes.

People do change. Since this Mitt deal touches on homosexuality and its acceptance, just consider that. Would you say the word "fag" when you were 15? Would you say it now? And don't tell me it's just political correctness that's preventing you from saying it when you're really thinking it. It's being more aware of the world and thinking more openly and not really even thinking "fag" anymore.

Here's the thing, though. Is he your boy? I mean your truly good friend?

My buddies and I bust on each other something awful. But it's a different thing than picking on someone who you aren't friends with.

I don't pay attention to national polls. I leave those for straw-graspers such as EvilBastard, Old_Tony and similar kneejerkers. It's the state-by-state electoral polls that count.

Obama holds a substantial advantage. Ohio or Florida by itself will get the job done for him. Without either, Virginia gets Obama to 266 and New Hampshire gets him to 270. Mittens has his work cut out for him.

Flip the coin and Romney would have to sweep all 7 smaller battleground states and take either Ohio or Florida.

Ooh, I don't know. It doesn't sound like you had some deep dark secret or "different" characteristic that was being mocked. But I think we're talking about different things. You're saying it didn't affect your development. We're pondering what it means to the perpetrator's current character.

In general, "boys being boys" is a stupid phrase allowing young men to do stupid shit and get away with it without being held accountable.

The horrible cruelty that happened to me -- both ways, mind you -- in middle school already had become a big part of who I was in high school. I was dead set against any kind of hazing when I was a senior, and didn't do any, cause none happened.

As if the opponents have any clue to fix it except "Hey Let's Give All Our Money To The Job Creators."

We've been doing that in varying degrees since 1981 and it hasn't fuckin' worked yet.

Gotta cut Mittens some slack for the "atta girl!" comment and the gay-bashing in the '60s. After all, back then, he was being taught in Temple that blacks were "mud people."

I think that a whole bunch of folks approach politics the same way as being a sports fan.

We ignore or discount past indiscretions of candidates who are on our own political team while we play up and vilify the past indiscretions of candidates on the opposing team.

And what's wild is that this is about as level-headed a political form as you'll find on the Web.

And the Ron Paul supporters usually blame the refs.
