How could the family "know" that it never happened? Were they at Cranbrook? You got 5 guys named on the record here and a sixth anonymous one.

Look, I'm not saying Mitt Romney is a gay-attacker and animal abuser now, but if he were I get the sense that would make Boom, Zags and a couple of others around here more likely to vote for him, not less. And that's disturbing.

And you got three others saying it never happened and the guys sister saying it never happened - but I know, they have an agenda, the five guys don't. ::)

And to your other point, yes, yes, I will definitely vote for him because I have been such a gay-basher around these parts. I mean, how dare I say that gays should be allowed to get married and that it is an injustice that they aren't allowed to do this and that conservative Christians are ridiculous on this issue....... ::)

He is saying that if you found out Romney beat up queers for a living, you'd like him more since you hate queers. Makes perfect sense to me..... ::)

Those are the kind of facts you can't fuck up in a story like that. You just can't. You can't leave that opening. Remember the Darrell Issa story that had some little factual errors? Just can't do it. Accuracy and fact-checking has to be iron clad.

Also: The biggest feeling I get from Boom, and I'm sure he can speak for himself on this, is that he finds it annoying as all get out when politicians sell their scrappy background narrative. His annoyance at such tactics seem to cross party lines pretty fluidly.

More importantly it is the kind of error which speaks volumes of the zealousness of the reporter and by extension, editor, to get this story out and calls into question their credibility and the credibility of the entire story.

There is no question in my mind this incident has been embellished at the very least, if not totally fabricated.

Yes that's fair. I hate when politicians treat the public like their idiots.

As far as this story I agree that it needed to be irrefutable. It was not.

    I also question the timing.

I feel bad for all of the homosexual graduates of Liberty right now. Only big applause line for Mitt so far is when he talks about opposition to gay marriage.

Why would a homosexual want to go to school at Liberty?

I don't know, you'd have to ask him or her.
