Does it tickle anyone else that 93's avatar appears to be Mickey Mouse wearing a chef's hat?

The best part of this is that I would have been happy to pile on with criticism of vegetarians.

Similar to what's been discussed on the Facebook thread, the worst kind of people are preachy folks who harp on a single subject. Whether they're political nuts, God freaks, sober drunks, bicycle enthusiasts, or vegetarians, I have no problem with their choices, but don't need them to preach to me.

But, you've been both judgmental and ignorant on this thread, and have pushed me to side with our vegetarian friends on this one.

I prefer to think of it as a dunce cap.

    Good post.

I think being that steadfast is overboard, and I might not be in the minority, but now we are talking about the thread and not attack each others' eating habits.

Where did I type their eating choices are bad or wrong?

Where on this thread did I type that eating meat is better than not eating meat?

    Please find it.

Pal, you're the only one I've seen on this thread attacking anyone's eating habits.

BTW, there is no constitutional right to be fed at a wedding or party. If you're going to a function at a vegetarian/vegan's house and are afraid they won't have anything you like to eat, do what millions of vegetarians/vegans have been doing in similar situations since time immemorial -- eat before you go, or bring your own food.

Why would anyone think that "eating an egg once in a while, is not going to kill anyone," or "It only takes a few minutes to drop some shrimp in a pot and add it to some sauce and noodles, but you are cool with the tofu," or "Vegetarians think they are better than you (facts in evidence to 93, therefore it's a fact alright, because he "thinks" anyone who finds him idiotic is in the minority) by not giving an inch like serving shrimp or fish as an option," was you being a wee bit judgmental?

You variously told me on this thread that people (the amorphous people!) think vegetarians think they are better than everyone else, without telling me who those people are, and why they think that. It was presumably because I pointed out how logically flawed one of your ridiculous posts was. Then you took the jumping off point of "Instead of buying a bag of shrimp, Ragu will lecture you on the merits of his food choices. So the answer to the thread question is, for some people, yes." Never mind that I haven't had any discussion on this thread about the merits of my food choices. ... And then you went completely off your rocker with your "fish is a middle ground" tact, before posting the stupid, "Ragu championing a vegetarian diet means vegetarians think they are better than everyone else." Presumably because I mocked you because of your tact that areasonable vegetarian will find "middle ground" . ... you know shrimp!

I haven't championed a vegetarian diet on this thread, the strawman you started with to keep making an idiot of yourself. The only person posting ridiculous opinions about what others should eat, or serve at a party, has been you.

I'd actually be happy to champion a vegetarian diet. ... but I can't imagine wasting my time doing it with anyone not intelligent enough to understand what a vegetarian is in the first place. My discussing (or championing, as you see it) my diet obviously wouldn't mean I think I am better than anyone else. It would be a vegetarian talking about why they are a vegetarian.

In any case, you can rest assure, 93, that the reason I think I am better than you has nothing to do with me being a vegetarian. It's all the dumb posts from you I have read on this board.

Where did I type that what they are eating is wrong?

My one older brother's wife doesn't drink, but while they'll at least serve beer and wine at family functions, they don't have liquor in the house.

So, my dad makes himself a Manhattan in a mason jar that he brings with him, so he can have a pre-dinner drink.

    Problem solved.

So they find a middle ground with beer and wine.

You are not "everyone," 93. The reason I find your posts dumb on here is because they are dumb posts.

It has nothing to do with what I ate for lunch.

It has everything to do with the fact that you are often incoherent, your style of posting is to create strawmen and shifting goalposts to derail any attempts at intelligent conversation. You are continually off point. And worst of all. ... you post opinionated things (which can be entertaining on a message board), but then demonstrate that you are ignorant about very basic things related to the thing you had a strong opinion about!

That is me judging 93Devil. Not "everyone." And it isn't painted by a bunch of spinach, a peach or my aversion to a medium rare steak.
