Do Vegetarians and Vegans Think They Are Better Than Everyone Else?

Where were you last night? My wife didn't get home 'till 9:00 last night, there was nothing I wanted to watch on TV, and the board was slow.

Your posts would have highhandedly kept me entertained.

 

So why do they choose to put out beer and wine and not Jack Daniels? Can you explain their rationale?

 

And yours are to filibuster, talk down to people and move conversations back to what you are comfortable talking about.

You also resort to the YF standard of calling people dumb.

 

If I go to a vegetarian home for dinner and they serve salad and pasta, I can eat.
If I invite vegetarians to my home for dinner and I serve salad and steak, my guests cannot eat the entrée.

It seems like a simple distinction: one diet is restrictive and one is not.

My preference is to have some meat: poultry, beef, pork, fish - I eat some form twice a day almost every day. That's my preference.
However, if I go to someone's house and no meat is offered I do not go hungry. I do not restrict myself from eating foods other than meats.

The issue of preference is also a clear one.
I eat meat, but I prefer not to eat liver. I eat vegetables, but I prefer not to have tomatoes on my sandwich.

 

I don't think I reflexively call people dumb, or do it when I'm losing an argument. I certainly wouldn't call it my standard.

I'm nearly certain that I've only ever called you and Bodie dumb, or some variant of dumb. If I'm forgetting someone, please let me know.

(And, in fact, I think some of the folks I've argued with the most here are very smart - smarter than me certainly. Folks like Doc, Zeke, Fenian, Azrael, for instance. And, other folks who I disagree with often, like Bob Cook, Dick Whitman, LTL, JR, Cranberry, etc. are also very smart. All of the folks named have my respect.)

You, are plain dumb.

And, if anyone on the board thinks I've applied this term in error or haste, I'd be open to hearing their argument for why I shouldn't call you dumb.

And, you're the worst kind of dumb. You're too dumb to reconsider your words when someone presents a compelling argument for why you might be wrong, or may not have considered everything before reaching a decision.

You don't just not think you're dumb, you think you're smart. That's a bad combination.

 

It's so simple, and it's been explained to him by a number of people, in a variety of ways. Yet, he still doesn't get it.
