Do you call a coach "Coach"?

    I'm sure many reporters called Dubya something other than "Mr. President." Behind his back, at least.

    Maybe the blind WH reporter who wears sunglasses to press conferences should try that.

    Both McCain and Obama were called "Senator" throughout the campaigns.

    Half the people on this thread would just call him Bob.

    I only use coach when it's a high school coach who I don't normally cover or when I don't know his name.

    There's no way in hell I'm calling the coaches on my college beat anything other than their names. Their players call them Coach, all their adoring fans call them Coach. I am neither subordinate nor adoring, and I'd like for their to be no confusion on the matter. Names only.
