Wanted to share a couple of my most recent photos that I adore. Some are from the state Class championship meet last weekend. Others are from recent events:

    1.) A 4x4 handoff->

2.) My absolute best pole vault shot->

3.) Got to play with a fish eye lens at a prom event I was shooting. SOOOO COOL->

4.) Another of the fish eye pics:

5.) And this is a random night photography skyline pic I tried taking of the state capital here in RI:

6.) Lastly, here's a cute dog whose portrait I took at a campus event at our state school:

    Love the "long jump" pic.

Cool fish eye lens. You could not pay me enough to shoot a prom.

Sorry about that. Was going to post a long jump but went with the pole vault instead. It's been a long day. lol.
And I LOVE shooting proms. At least the candid parts of the night anyway. It's very similar to the weddings I shoot so it's good practice with lighting and whatnot.

I like how you caught her leg on the bar. That's tough to do.

Devil - try sitting when you shoot youth soccer. Makes the kids look bigger and adds a ton to the shots.

When the lil' local team up in the sticks of Vermont lost a tough one to 3,000-enrollment Boston school.

He made it over even though it looks like he had no chance in hell of clearing the bar.

To get a sense of the downhill speed I dialed it way down and focused on the woman. Looks like the bike is going straight through her.

I photoshopped all the entire background by blacking it out because I wanted you to see only the players, two of the team's three 1,000-point scorers that season. They went undefeated to win the N.H. Class M title.

Hitter tried stretching double into triple and got rung up. Pitcher (left) and third baseman celebrate the out.

Babe Ruth, free-spirited kid loves heavy metal, wears British-buckled belt. Caught this moment of him in the on-deck circle. His turn to bat but ump halts the game until he takes the belt off.

Lotta stuff going on: Pitcher looking at catcher, who's about to throw it ball while the ump denotes Strike 2 and the batter walks out of the box to collect himself. Really good and crafty southpaw. I'd venture that 75% of the pitches he threw when I covered him were strikes. He was great at painting corners.

So I don't know if there's anything more annoying than taking a great championship photo and not having a newspaper to run it in. :(
Grabbed this for my side gig as a photog for a school yearbook company. Going to try to convince my sister paper to run it. Too bad they had their own photog at the game but I doubt he got this picture as he was on the other end. LOVE this picture. One of my favorites in a long time.
    Thoughts?
