Always had an interest in the JFK assassination theories, then visited Dealey Plaza about a year ago, and listened to the (amazing) Soledad O'Brien podcast series looking into it. Now the entire family is fixated on it, including our 2 college-aged kids.

 

Great band name. I look forward to watching this doc over a wintry weekend in the coming weeks.

Started watching the first episode of Game 7 covering the epic Clemens - Pedro, Yankees - Red Sox Game 7. Great stuff.

 

Well, Cross did have McDonald on his first two albums.

 

I watched the Yacht Rock documentary last night. Really interesting. But, I kept waiting for Styx and Chicago references that never came. Toto is amazing (I have argued with people about what a great song "Rosanna" is). I knew some of what was in the doc, but certainly not the scope of their influence.

 

"Lost in the Shuffle" which features a Canadian magician traveling the world meeting with other illusionists and relaying the history of playing cards and their possible connection with the mysterious death of Charles VIII of France.

Fun little doc. Make sure to watch through the end credits for a fun factoid.

 

I'm starting the Madden video game doc on Prime. Off to a good start.

 

I always liked Toto, also. "99" is a good song, too. The backing music especially.

 

"Hold The Line" is a great song, terrific guitar solo in that one.

 

Same. Didn’t know about it or the Game 7 series. Which I’ll probably watch next.

The Madden doc is great, after two of the four parts. Right in my wheelhouse. Though the last time I played it (or any video game) was probably 2006.

It really was/is a cultural phenomenon.

 

Recently watched "Endurance," a documentary movie on Hulu.

It recounts the legendary wreck of that ship and the incredible survival tale of all 28 crew members, interspersing that story with the search by an expedition of scientists and explorers who searched for, and, in March of 2022, finally found the ship, nearly 107 years later, at the bottom of the Weddell Sea in Antarctica, about four miles from where she went down.

I've had a keen interest in the Endurance's voyage since a great cruise trip I took to Antarctica in 2020, when the Weddell Sea, the Drake Passage and Elephant Island were brought to life and became truly real things for me. But it's not hard to get drawn in to the remarkable story -- maybe the greatest true-life survival tale ever; I think only Apollo 13 could compete with it.

Anybody would enjoy it, and celebrate the location of Endurance that was chronicled in this movie.
