Doing non-journalism piddling while working

    Just a quick note:

    Anyone who's ever worked 50 hours and been paid for 40 knows that this is never a cut-and-dried business when it comes to clocking your time. Nor, IMO, should it be.

    I don't see anything about people acting superior about how hard they work. At least, I know I haven't. I know a lot of people who work harder than me.

    Did you know you can use a pica pole as a screwdriver? It works pretty well.

    And I used to have a proportion wheel around here somewhere, but it's long gone now.

    When a co-worker locked her keys in the car I used the pica pole to shimmy open the door. Thousand and one uses.
