I've only gotten WGN once in my life and it was on the alternate cable station in a small town in Idaho. I wish it was carried nationally so I could watch the Cubs and White Sox, but I guess with TBS' new deal there will be more MLB on anyway.

    Glenn Hubbard kicked ass.

One season the Braves had loaded the bases, with Hubbard on first. There were two outs in the ninth. The batter hits a screaming line drive between second and first, sure to score multiple runs and win the game.

Except the ball hits Hubbard right in the melon. He's out; game's over. He even seemed to be dead for a couple of minutes, but then he got up.

Rockpile's dad was probably playing canasta in the press box and missed the whole thing.

Probably becuase too many writers in press boxes around the country were watching the Braves on TV instead of paying meticulous attention to the game they were covering.
Gives us all a bad rep.

Dyepack, the last line was funny. ... I stayed up and watched that epic Braves 4th of July extra-innings game (circa 1985 or 86) that went till, like 2 a.m. -- and then they did the fireworks show!

I thought it went even later than that. Did anyone live near the stadium? I can only imagine the reaction to that.

That is one of the funniest posts I've ever read.

Buck, so TBS phasing out the Braves is actually making it so there is less baseball on national TV? That blows.

19-innings against the Mets... ended around 3 a.m. EDT.. fireworks started at 3:15. One of our baseball regulars here covered that game.

I seem to remember Rick Camp got credit for the win, and that he wore No. 37. Does that ring a bell? I don't get the channel the Braves are moving to. I guess Sex and the City is more important.

Camp, in fact was the loser...Mest won. 16-13.

Camp hit a HR in the bottom of the 18th to tie it, then gave up 5 in the 19th.

"In the fourth inning of the Yankees' 6-2 win over the Mariners, Yankee pitcher Randy Johnson spent seconds straightening his cup, which apparently had caused the future Hall-of-Famer some discomfort..."

And hopefully you were in an updated press box that had both a men's and women's restroom, so you didn't have to run down to the concourse for a bathroom break. I once spent quality time in a press box that used the women's restroom as extra storage.

i am both shocked and appalled you became orientated with the facility's bathrooms while covering a game, which takes "piddling" to an all-time high ... slacker.
