You were the one who felt it important to note Marvez had been writing the column since before his freshman year in college, not me.

And true enough, pro wrestling is harmless fun. So is masturbation, but I don't need to see a column about it in my newspaper.

    I mean, c'mon...

I hate wrestling too... I think it's insane that anyone over the age of 12 would watch it...

I wouldn't write a column about it, but I also certainly wouldn't pass judgment on someone who did...

Oh, I'm sorry. I thought you meant something else.

I thought it's worth noting that his wrestling column predated his internship at The New York Times. Now say what you want about the NYT, but I don't think you can argue that probably no newspaper takes itself more seriously than the NYT does. If it didn't bother the pompous folks at the NYT, if it didn't bother the people in Miami (which at the time was one of the nation's best newspapers that was winning Pulitzers all the time), maybe you're taking this a little too seriously.

You just called Gainesville a shithole on another thread. You ripped a whole city.

Marvez has always been a go-getter. Gotta give him credit for that.

Darlington had a story last month on Manny Wright, the D-lineman whom Saban made cry last year, where he waited outside Wright's house, saw his car drive by, followed the car into an apartment complex, lost it and decided to park and go door-to-door until he found Wright. He eventually did and broke the story on how Wright wanted to be traded and was tired of Miami and was still battling depression. The player has since been put on the inactive list and Saban was forced to open up about his status and whether they were entertaining trading him. If that's not busting your ass on the Dolphins beat, I don't know what is.

Here's the link to that story that Lollygaggers is talking about. A nice get, to say the least:

Kurt Warner used to stack supermarket shelves in Iowa.

Somebody with that background CANNOT be taken seriously as an NFL quarterback.

Last year after a preseason game in Jacksonville as the other Dolphins writers were hopping a plane back to Miami, Darlington rented a car and drove five hours to Ronnie Brown's house where he was holding out as the No. 2 pick.

    Guess who broke Brown's signing?

Any reporter who is willing to do that kind of stuff are the people you want to hire...
