One of the best trades in sports history, a first-round pick for 2 NFL titles, 5 AFC crowns, 10+ division titles and only 2 losing seasons in 26 years.
    I'd take that.
And Shula left before he was fired, Carroll Rosenblum was always going to be POed about Super Bowl III.
Rozelle gave the Colts the pick to shut Carroll up.

Anyone want to guess how long I was sitting on this post tonight, waiting to resurrect it and show I was right about something for the first time in my life?

Oh, well, there's always next week ...

I didn't have a problem with what Shula said originally. At least he's honest with what he thinks. There's no doubt he hates NE, Belichick in particular.

By the way, Shula should have stayed in the booth a little longer. That Dolphin jinx shit was working until he left the booth.

He should have stayed the rest of the game. His analysis was sharp and it would have been fun watching/hearing him in the closing minutes. Maybe he was asked to stay and didn't want to, who knows, but it would have been a very memorable moment in a now-consistently unmemorable MNF booth.

Big-ass sign at Heinz last night:

5 Super Bowl rings * No cheating

Saw that and laughed -- the signs they show during games aren't always good ones, but that was one.

  10. But lots and lots of really cool steroids.

Not to mention HYSTERCAL officiating against the Seahawks.

Want to borrow my Terrible Towel to wipe your tears over that one?

Yes, I've used that one a lot. Not nearly as much as I've heard people whine about the officiating in that game, but a lot.
