Ratings are going to keep going down, no matter what, just because there are more channels to watch.

Thing is, NBA keeps putting their games at 9 p.m., which end at midnight on the East Coast. People don't want to bother watching something they know they won't be able to stay awake for.

MLB is having the same problem, with their 8:30 games dragging out to 11:45 or later. Their ratings keep going down too.

The NFL has it right. They play their playoffs either during the day, or the early evening, so people can actually watch. Their late playoff games are on Saturdays, when people are more apt to be awake at 11 p.m.

Agree 100 percent with the starting times being ludicrous. I'm a huge NBA fan, but if it wasn't two teams I was interested in, I don't think I'd be staying up until midnight to watch the finals. Why they don't start at 8 eastern is a mystery. Speaking of the 80s, remember there used to always be Sunday afternoon games. Loved those too.

My God are you really a sports journalists? Please tell me you don't cover Basketball.

I guess Kobe has done nothing these playoffs and Garnetts defense and rebounding mean nothing.

No, that's still rigged. According to the BYH Spurs theory, the league occasionally does that just to throw all the conspiracy trackers off the scent.

We had the same thought, I was modifying mine at the same time you were posting this.

To win the game you have to score more points than the other team.

There are a lot of guys who can rebound and play D. Many of them are not even in the NBA. Not many can score in the NBA Finals.

To place Kobe and Garnett in the elite of the elite players, you have to score in the NBA Finals. You also need to do it without taking 25-30 shots a game.

You honestly look more foolish after every post.

Please tell me you're not arguing against preps-to-NBA players winning championships as the marquee player on their team.

EDIT -- FirstDownPirates beat me to it, albeit with far more style.

Devil, you really don't want to jack this thread with another stupid "only college players win rings" debate, do you?

He moves his arguement each time.

First it weas Kobe was not vital to the Lakers first three titles then it was if the Celtics or Lakers win titles this year then it will be the first time a prep has led his team to a tilte. Now who the Fuck knows because rebounding and defense mean nothing and Kobe shoots to much

Kobe just scored 36 on 20 shots. Kobe's proven he's one of the greatest offensive players in the history of the league - hell, Ralph Wiley wrote a column five years ago saying he might be the most potent offensive force ever, and that was before 81 points. Garnett's game isn't about scoring. I think he should score more and I do think he shrinks in the clutch, but he brings much more to the court. Magic never scored a lot in the Finals, but I sort of think he's probably in that elite category.
